Life Jackets and Buoyancy Aids
A lifejacket or buoyancy aid is an essential piece of equipment to ensure the safety of you or your crew members.
Automatic life jackets, designed to inflate automatically if the wearer enters the water, are the most popular type of flotation device and are the ideal type of life jacket where there may be a risk of entering the water unconscious. Manual life jackets are activated by pulling a lanyard attached to a gas canister which then inflates the life jacket.
Buoyancy aids provide additional flotation support when in the water but unlike life jackets will not keep a person upright if they are unconscious. Buoyancy aids are generally preferred by dingy sailors because they are less bulky than life jackets.
Comparesailing.co.uk, a price comparison web site for sailing enthusiasts, allows purchasers to easily compare prices of life jackets and buoyancy aids by specification, location and availability.
At comparesailing.co.uk we compare prices of branded life jackets and buoyancy aids including crewsaver, ocean safety, plastimo, seago, secumar and many other leading life jacket or buoyancy aid brands at top online sailing shops across the UK.
